How to create a One Multi Condition Filter?

Access the Filters pane or create it within a Report under Series. Filters can be utilized in Reports or Follow-up, refining responses that match criteria from the answers provided in one or more questions.

Example Quest Type: Customer Satisfaction Survey

The Quest type used as an example here is a Customer satisfaction quest. But the filters may be applied on other quest types as well.

Steps:

  • Navigate to FILTERS (1) in the top pane and click the Plus-button (2).

  • We are creating a Value filter: Choose Value Filter (1) and click Next (2).
  • In the next window we will select Create One Multi Condition Filter.

  • Select the questions and response options for the filter. For instance, in a Customer Experience quest, you may filter unsatisfied customers based on their responses. Add the first question and the response options to include. For instance, you may filter responses where respondents chose 1=Disagree completely for the question «My contact at Company is easy to get hold of.»

  • Add another question with response options to include. For example, you may filter responses where respondents chose 1=Disagree completely for the question «My contact at Company has good professional expertise.»

You can set the logic for multiple filter rules:

  • AND(1) Logic: Identifies responses that meet ALL criteria within the filter rules.
  • OR(1) Logic: Identifies responses that meet at least one criterion within the filter rules.
    • The multi-condition filter can include two or more questions added with either And or Or logic, using the Add Condition(2) button.
    • By using Add group(3) one can add sets of conditions, to group sets of respondents that answered differently across selected questions.
  • Click Next and assign a Name (1) to the filter for identification.
  • Click OK (2), the One Multi Condition filter is now created.
  • The filter will appear under Filters. When Selecting (1) a filter you can choose to Duplicate (2) or Delete (3) it.

When applied in a Report, this value filter will display responses where respondents answered 1=Disagree completely in two questions (as defined).
You can customize this approach to match your specific needs, such as targeting responses where respondents answered 6=Totally agree.

The filter is now created and may be used in reports. Read more on how to use filters in a report HERE.

Filters can also be used under the Follow-up pane when viewing responses!

**You may choose from a dropdown menu with 4 different operator logics when using filter on all question types except Open Answer and miscellaneous question types:
Any of: Will create one separate filter per selection that groups together all respondents that
have answered the given alternative.
None of: Will create one separate filter per selection that groups together all respondents that
have not answered the given alternative.
Answered: Will group together all respondents that have answered the given question.
Not answered: Will group together all respondents that have not answered the given question.
