How to create a One Multi Condition Filter?

A new value filter with One Multi Condition.

Can be created from the FILTERS pane or within a report. Filters created from the Filters pane can be used under the Reports or Follow-up pane, to filter out responses matching conditions based on the answers given in one or more questions.

The Quest type used as an example here is a Customer satisfaction quest. But the filters may be applied on other quest types as well.

  • In this example we will show how to create a filter with One Multi Condition, Choose FILTERS (1) from the top pane. And click the Green + button (2).

  • We are creating a Value filter: Choose Value Filter (1) and click Next (2).

  • In the next window we will select Create One Multi Condition Filter.

Next up we have to choose which questions and answers we want to apply the filter on. In this Customer Experience quest example, we want to filter out the unsatisfied customers based on their responses.

  • Choose the first question, and which response options to be included. In this example the filter condition is any** responses which responded 1=Disagree completely to the question ”My contact at *Company* is easy to get hold of”. You can define it according to your own need, for example responses in which respondents answered 6= Totally agree.
  • Next up we add another question with a set of response options to be included. In this additional filter condition, the condition is any responses which responded 1= Disagree completely to the question ”My contact at *Company* has good professional expertise”.  You may define it according to your own need, for example responses in which respondents answered 6= Totally agree. There are two types of logic for multiple filter rules, AND & OR:
    • AND – Identify responses that meet ALL criteria’s within the set of filter rules. If you want to identify responses containing 1=Disagree completely AND 6=Totally agree use ADD
    • OR – Identify objects that meet at least one criteria within a set of filter rules. If you want to identify responses containing 1= Disagree completely OR 6= Totally agree, use OR.
    • The multi-condition filter can include two or more questions added with either “and” or “or” logic, using the Add Condition button.
    • By using Add group one can add sets of conditions, to group sets of respondents that answered differently across selected questions.
  • Click Next and set a Name (1) to the filter as desired. To easier identify each set of filters we create, it is recommended to name the filter describing the conditions.
Click OK (2), the One Multi Condition filter is now created.
  • The filter will appear under Filters. When Selecting (1) a filter you can choose to Duplicate (2) or Delete (3) it.

When applied in a Report, this value filter will show only responses in which respondents answered: 1= Disagree completely in two questions, as defined above.
You may choose to define it according to your own need, for example responses in which respondents answered 6= Totally agree.

The filter is now created and may be used in reports. Read more on how to use filters in a report HERE.
TIP: Filters can also be used under the Follow-up pane when viewing responses!

**You may choose from a dropdown menu with 4 different operator logics when using filter on all question types except Open Answer and miscellaneous question types:
Any of: Will create one separate filter per selection that groups together all respondents that
have answered the given alternative.
None of: Will create one separate filter per selection that groups together all respondents that
have not answered the given alternative.
Answered: Will group together all respondents that have answered the given question.
Not answered: Will group together all respondents that have not answered the given question.
