How do I add the Introduction text to a separate page?

The introduction text is displayed on the first page by default, regardless of page breaks. The default behavior for page breaks is that it separates questions and not introduction texts.

default designer

Adding a page break between the introduction text and Question 1 and Question 2 (as shown above), will thus produce a output with the introduction text and Question 1 and Question 2 in the same page (as shown below).

default output
Therefore, one needs to add a question at the beginning (together with the introduction text) and later hide the question text in order to get a separate introduction text.

To add the introduction text to a separate page you may follow these steps:

  1. Add a question
  2. Move the question to the top question slot
  3. Choose Information text in the menu Question type.
  4. Choose Hide question text in the menu Question settings*
  5. Then add a page brake

*The hidden question will not appear to the respondent, but will make the introduction to be on its own page at the beginning of the quest.

After these steps, the introduction will show on a separate page:

An alternative route is to leave the introduction text blank and instead place the introductory text to the Include additional information – section in the first question of the quest, using a hidden question text as described above.
