How to use Collections

Collections lets you create indexes and deep dive in to various statistics for sets of two or more questions. A basic example may look like this:
To add a Collection inside a report, click Add and then Add Collection.
Give the Collection a name. Then click Add Question to decide which questions you want to include in the collection:
Question types that are not supported are labeled (Not supported) in the question list. The question types that are not supported are:
- NPS
- Hierarchy
- Main Matrix Double Scale
- Main Matrix Custom
- Matrix Text Grid
- Open Answer Short
- Open Answer Multiple
- Open Answer long
- Date/Calendar
- Upload File
In the menu Series you can, for example, compare the collections with similar collections from another Quests.
In the menu Label Editor the field Question Text lets you change the name of the collection. Under Rows you can change the name of the added questions. When you add series to the collection you will be able to edit the new labels under Label Editor.
The menu Display Settings offers a lot of customization options for the layout of the chart and table for collections:
Chart Type lets you set the chart type for the question. We have made it easier for you to decide on a chart type by hiding chart types incompatible with the chosen question.
Show Data as displays the data as averages (per question + summary) as this is the only available data type for collections.
Sorting enables changing the order for how answer alternatives are presented in the chart:
- “Default order” is the same order as the answer alternatives were presented in the Question
- “Alphabetically A -> Z” sorts the answer alternatives alphabetically
- “Alphabetically Z -> A” sorts the answer alternatives reversed alphabetically
- “Answers smallest to largest” sorts the answer alternatives by answer count, smallest first.
- “Answers largest to smallest” sorts the answer alternatives by answer count, largest first
- “Reversed default order” sorts the answer alternatives in a reversely from how they were presented in the Question
Show Data Labels in Chart will display the data chosen under Show Data as, in the graph.
Show response Count in Chart will display the total amount of respondents that have answered the given question in the chart.
Table colors: Let’s you change the color scheme/heatmap of the table.
Chart Colors: You can choose between a single color and a color scheme. There is a drop down that lets you choose a color scheme from a set of predefined color schemes.
Show average value: only displays the average value of the entire collection. Here is an example of show average value only enabled with column chart
In the menu Display you can switch between the chart view and table view:
Additional information lets you add text, images, links and other information above the collection.
Star: The star is used to select either chart or table as default in the Live Report.
Comments lets you add comments, text, images, links and other information below the collection.
In table view you can choose which columns to include in the table by clicking Select columns:
Clicking on Select columns opens this pop-up window:
Note that adding more than 6 columns will convert the column header texts to symbols and abbreviations.
